How do I know if I need hearing aids?

Only a comprehensive hearing screening performed by a licensed hearing care professional, audiologist, or medical doctor can tell you if you need hearing aids. Often, people think they need hearing aids, but they really don’t.

What happens at the appointment? Does it cost anything?

Beltone offers a very thorough hearing evaluation, including an audiometric hearing test, video ear scan, and consultation with our Hearing Care Practitioner. After your evaluation, the HCP records your results on an audiogram. He/She will go over the results with you and explain what you are hearing and what you are missing. The entire evaluation is free of charge. Should you have hearing loss, we also offer free demonstration of hearing and technology we recommend for you, your lifestyle, and your budget.

How much do hearing aids cost?

A set of hearing aids range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars, depending n your individual hearing loss, the style you choose for your lifestyle, and many other factors. There is no way to predict or to guess without seeing you for a hearing evaluation – and that’s absolutely free! And remember, if hearing loss is due to a condition such as earwax, hearing aids are not even needed.

Can you give me a price over the phone?

I wish I could, but I’m not qualified to do so. Everyone’s hearing loss is different and completely unique to them. All of our hearing aids are prescribed to fit your needs precisely, so first we need to do a thorough evaluation to see if you even have a hearing loss. If hearing aids are the tight decision for you, we offer a variety of payment options to fit your budget and we work with many insurance plans.

Can I get away with one hearing aid?

Hearing with both ears is called “binaural” hearing – and exactly what nature intended. If you have hearing loss in both ears, a single hearing aid can help. But, just as eye glasses improve vision in both eyes, wearing two hearing aids provides a number of advantages.

Will I be able to hear in noisy places?

Can I use my cell phone while wearing hearing aids?

Does my insurance cover hearing aids?

We work with most insurance companies, including private, state and federal plans. Since there are so many different insurance plans and programs, make sure that you bring your insurance information with you to your free hearing evaluation, and we’ll be happy to do a complimentary benefits check to find out exactly what your plan covers.

Does Medicare/Medicaid cover hearing aids?

There are many difference insurance plans and programs under the umbrella of Medicare and Medicaid. Make sure to bring your insurance information with you to your free hearing evaluation. We’ll be happy to do a complimentary benefits check for you to determine exactly what your plan covers.

Does Beltone offer payment plans?

Absolutely! Beltone offers variety of payment plans, including interest-free plans. Our goal is to make sure everyone with hearing loss can comfortably afford hearing aids.

Do you offer union discounts?

We certainly do. Just bring in your membership information cards so we can determine what types of discounts you may be eligible for – Beltone has relationships with hundreds of unions and associations!

Why do I need to bring my Spouse?

For the testing portion of the evaluation, it is important to have a voice that is familiar to you so we can best determine what you do and don’t understand. You also need to be compfortable discussing your medical history and decisions around them.

What kind of credentials does your dispensing staff have?

All of our practitioners are state-licensed and maintain professional continuing education credits.
